Lisa Harris speaking for: Amelia Harris 7/3/02

At three weeks of age Amelia started vomiting a lot and had really bad reflux. She often cried in pain, had the hiccups, coughed, and sneezed. She couldn’t sleep comfortably or for long periods of time. Amelia was just not a happy baby. I took her to her Pediatrician and he put her on a very low dose of Zantac and Reglan, which didn’t seem to help. I also took her to a Pediatric G.I. doctor who increased the dosage of Zantac, but that didn’t help either.

I am a patient of Dr. Cormier’s and so is her dad, so we asked Dr. Cormier if he could help Amelia. Amelia started treatment on 6/19/02 and she has had AMAZING results!! She is now sleeping better- sometimes even 4-5 hours! Amelia doesn’t hiccup or cough as much, she smiles more, and there is a decrease in crying and irritability. John (Amelia’s father) is very much improved, off prescription medication for his reflux and only takes one Pepcid a day. Our backs both feel much better, and my neck doesn’t hurt as much either.

Dr. Cormier is great! He is a very caring person and he truly wants what is best for the patient and their entire family. The staff is the greatest too! They always make us feel special. Thanks!!

Deborah Patrick 12/9/02

I have been treated for neck, shoulder, and arm pain for over twenty years. In the early 1980’s, I was diagnosed with a “bad neck”, a sleeping problem, and Fibromyalgia. About a year ago, I started having hip and leg pain. It was becoming very difficult to stand up, and get out of a vehicle. All this was making life very difficult and I could no longer enjoy sports and physical activities. Working at a computer had also become very difficult.

I saw an orthopedic doctor who prescribed pain medication, muscle relaxers, and physical therapy. I also saw a Neurologist who also prescribed pain medication. He said I had a “bad neck” and basically I had to learn to live with it. I then went to a Chiropractor who confirmed the problem with my neck, and after three weeks of treatment he sent me to New Orleans. I was checked by a group of doctors and was diagnosed with a sleeping problem and Fibromyalgia. There I began treatment by a Rheumatologist. The Rheumatologist gave me pain medication, muscle relaxers, sleep medication, physical therapy, and shots for pain. In his opinion, due to the fibromyalgia, I will always be on medication. However, if I took all the medication prescribed, I would not be able to function. I refuse to live every day of my life in a fog. I decided I preferred to manage the pain rather than medicate the pain. This is when I decided to try chiropractic care at Dr. Cormier’s office.

I was referred to Dr. Cormier by one of his patients and started care on 8/8/01. Within a couple of weeks of beginning treatment, there was a noticeable improvement in my neck, hip, and leg. I was also to reduce my medication. You will not find a typical doctor/patient relationship here. Dr. Cormier, his staff, and patients are more like a “big happy family.” Dr. Cormier also treats my twelve-year-old daughter. As long as I follow his techniques, exercise program and maintenance program, the pain in my neck, hip, and leg are manageable.

When I came to see Dr. Cormier I was having persistent headaches and a bruising sensation around my eyes, as well as some lower back discomfort. These problems had been present for about four years. I had no trauma, although I did have a craniotomy approximately 10 years ago.

I had been having problems relaxing, sleeping and concentrating. I had seen a Neurologist and an Internal Medicine specialist for my headaches. They both recommended medications, and the Neurologist was treating me for a “vascular” headache problem.

I met Dr. Cormier when his office opened, and I began care approximately one year ago. I find Dr. Cormier to be caring, compassionate, and patient. He will communicate very openly with you if you have any questions. My lower back discomfort is all but gone and my headaches are effectively managed. My son is also a patient of Dr. Cormier’s and has improved remarkably under his care.

On July 31, 2004, I was involved in an automobile accident, which caused significant lower back, neck, hand, and arm pain. I was not able to sleep well. Sitting and walking caused pain in my lower back and leg. I sought treatment with a pain specialist who gave me injections and medication that only brought temporary relief.

A friend told me about Dr. Cormier and I started treatment on August 4, 2004, and I have no pain at all in my neck or hand. I walk freely and my arm and low back are doing great. It’s all because of Cormier Chiropractic! Dr. Cormier is a big teddy bear who is nice and friendly. He takes time to listen to his patients and that means a lot to me. The staff is just as kind and caring as he is! I like the one-on-one attention I receive, and the classes are very helpful. Chiropractic care is something that I will continue doing to help keep me healthy and pain free.
